StumbleUpon continues to Feed My Blog

Tonight I was analyzing some of the referring sites for my blog and I couldn’t help but see a statistic that stands out more than any other - StumbleUpon drives a lot of traffic to my site! There are a lot of bookmarking sites out on the web, but StumbleUpon has that one strategic advantage that none of the others have - they provide links by relative interest.

Noone Likes [What/Who] Appears To Be a Friend-Whore

Warning: The following inadvertently turned into something of a rant. The point, in the end, is that it is unwise to build a virtual social net without giving people context as to why you're trying to connect with them. In the end, it turned out to be slightly tainted with distain for social network whoredom. I'll be interested to hear about your take on the subject.

Shut Up and Savor the Great Posts?!

This is more of a question for discussion rather than a comment. My experience with blogging is that consistency is everything. If your readers expect to have new content on a daily basis, they will return to your site on a daily basis to get that content. A good question is:

How many times will a visitor return to your website to check for new content before they stop returning?

I’ve been doing some testing recently. It’s not a very scientific approach that I’ve taken, but when I wrote a blog post on Starbucks that received a lot of attention (A), I decided to let it ride to see what would happen.

Se están escuchando ¨fuerte¨ los rumores de que Google está próximo a comprar a Digg.  Lo leímos en varios lados.  Ayuda Wordpress lo anunció en la blogósfera hispana y PC-Pro, Marketing Pilgrim y otros lo están comentando en la blogósfera de habla inglesa.
