OK, it has been a few weeks: Where’s our Gmail themes for Google Apps accounts? I’ve grown quite accustomed to my chosen theme with the free Gmail, I’d like to have it on the one I pay for too!

Just logged into my free Gmail account and noticed a new “Settings” option: Namely, Themes.

As you can see in the image, I’ve already tried one out.

Nothing on the Official Gmail Blog yet about this…

Updated: I should have mentioned this originally. To get to the Gmail Labs stuff first log into your Google Mail account. Click “Settings” at the top, then click on the “Labs” section to see all of the gadgets with which you might like to experiment.

Algo raro notaba en Gmail, pero como uso una interfaz diferente pensaba que eran alucinaciones mías.

Ahora mismo abría el lector de feeds, y en Geeksugar comentaban el tema, ahora en gmail, tenemos, tal y como véis en la imagen, una amplia gama de coloridos emoticonos, pero algo que no podéis apreciar en esta imagen, es que la mayoría son animados.

Pero que pop se nos está poniendo google!

Did you see the announcement for Google Mail Mobile 2.0 this week (mobile link)? It is truly incredible! Now, I have no clue how much better it really is than previous versions… I could never actually get the earlier version to run on my WinMo phone but I definitely like this a lot.

Backup to email, es un programa que te permite enviar, con un click derecho de tu ratón, copias de seguridad de cualquier archivo a tu correo electrónico. Por si quieres utilizarlo en otra máquina, en línea o simplemente por tenerlo a buen recaudo.

Con esta aplicación de escritorio podrás acceder a tu correo electrónico de gmail, a google calendar, Google Reader, Google Docs, Gmaps o a tu página de Picassa sin abrir tu navegador.

Un estilo diferente que contrasta con la sobriedad de Gmail.

Para todos los que tenéis ganas de ver vuestro correo Gmail, o google calendar, de una forma diferente y con un estilo bastante moderno, hay un addon de firefox, Google Redesigned, que os lo pone muy fácil.

Esta extensión de firefox, todavía está en estado beta, y para descargarla tendréis que estar registrados y logueados en la página de addons de Mozilla.

Google says that its product Google Calendar is now available in 38 languages just a dozen short of the 50 languages which Gmail supports.

Quizás algunos lo conocen, pero otros no, al igual que yo, que hasta hace unos momentos atrás no conocía  este truco que podemos utilizar los que tenemos una cuenta en Gmail.  Se trata de colocar un punto en cualquier parte del nombre de la cuenta en la dirección de correo de Gmail y cualquier mensaje será derivado a la cuenta original.  También, después del nombre de usuario, si colocamos el signo más (+), cualquier cosa que se escriba hasta el signo de arroba (@), no será tomado en cuenta y el email irá a parar a la cuenta original.

Oh the angst! I can’t log into any of my Google Mail accounts. Not the free Gmail, nor the free Google Apps. Not even the paid Apps Enterprise.

They all give the same “502” error:

Followed by the heart-warming “your Gmail account is experiencing errors” message.

Guess I’m excercise my Enterprise support options to at least try and get an ETA.

Now I can log in, but trying to send mail results in a (#796) error. *sigh*

This week I signed my personal site up for Google Apps. I’ve been getting a mountain of Spam since my email address hasn’t changed in years and my host (though I love them) will charge $1.99 per email address for Spam Protection, something that Gmail does for free. As well, with Gmail, you’re working with algorithms built by millions of other users so it’s quite accurate!

Según dicen en el sitio, actualmente ya tienen mas de 10.000.000 de cuentas.  Están basados totalmente en AJAX y su interfaz gráfica se asemeja mucho a la del programa de Microsoft, el Outlook.  Soporta plenamente el procedimiento de arrastrar y soltar elementos en su GUI.
